As a custom amplifier builder/repair guy, many good folks have inquired about pricing of my amplifiers. The simple answer is, it all depends on what you order. I get requests for all kinds of different types of speakers, cabinets, tubes, and even things like a specific types of capacitors. As parts prices fluctuate greatly and continues to rise prices are only quoted once we figure out the exact build players desire.
Restoration and Custom Amplifier Service
My restoration philosophy is simple: do it right, use the highest quality parts available, bench test the amp, listen, and then listen again. The ears don't lie! I take a great deal of pride in restoring Fender amps back to their original condition or adding mods, right down to using yellow and green cloth covered wire, exact fit tube sockets and if needed, the best new production transformers available. I completely extract old solder filled eyelets, scrape the eyelet or joint clean, trim new component leads and apply good 60/40 solder.
